Begin on the water
Hotel pickup is between 8:30 and 8:45 AM. The tour includes a three-hour bamboo boat ride through Vaikom’s village backwaters, with time to notice the quieter scenes along the banks.
A village day, by hand
The programme includes coir rope making, mat weaving, coconut leaf weaving for thatched roofing and a handmade cloth weaving centre visit. These activities form part of the day rather than separate tours.
Lunch, then the smaller canals
A traditional Kerala lunch is included. Afterwards, a 45-minute small canal ride continues the backwater experience. Hotel drop-off is between 4:00 and 4:30 PM.
